1964-1967 NOS 2.0" and 2.5" Exhaust Clamps

I'm down to my last set of NOS 2.0" and 2.5” Corvette exhaust pipe clamps. These are rare parts indeed, that are virtually impossible to find as NOS items. They are not modern day repro parts made in China. These are correct for 1964 thru 1967 Corvette. The 2.5" clamps are correct for the mid-pipe location on cars with 2.5" exhaust pipes, not the 2.0" pipes that came on some base engine, low HP cars. It's your responsibility to check your application to make sure the 2.5" clamps are what you need. On C2 Corvettes that have the 2.5" exhaust pipes, the 2.5" clamps are used where the front pipes and the rear pipes connect just ahead of the center cross member of the car.

There are a number of key features to look for in correct clamps. First, they are the guillotine style, not the incorrect double saddle style that even a novice judge can so easily spot. Second, notice the correct horizontal stamped “reinforcement bar” (raised on one side, indented on the other) on the guillotine portion of the saddle. Another thing that any knowledgeable judge will look for is the thread size. Original clamps had 5/16-18 threads. All the 2.5” clamps currently sold by the Corvette catalog and reproduction parts companies have 3/8-16 threads. The difference in diameter between 5/16” and 3/8” threads is very obvious to any experienced judge. That thread size is also confirmed by tracing the specifications for the nut listed in the GM Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) which calls out GM part # 1359887, which has 5/16-18 threads. Finally, the nut on original 2.5" clamps is a special “washer-faced” or “flanged” nut. The use of a flanged nut eliminates the need for a lock washer. The lack of a lock washer on the 2.5" clamps is again documented in the AIM and has been observed on multiple Bowtie and Survivor cars. Here's a photo of the 2.5" clamps with the flanged nuts.

The 2.0" exhaust clamps for clamping the rear exhaust tips to the outlet of the mufflers are very similar in appearance to the 2.5" clamps with the exception that they use standard lock washers and standard hex nuts, instead of flanged nuts.
